Cumberland County Jail Mugshots Overview

Research found that the public HTML includes a large inmate image area, a default user image, and a service call that can load a JPEG booking image for a selected booking number. That means the roster is technically built to show a mugshot or booking photo when the facility permits public display and the record returns an image.
No separate official Cumberland County mugshot gallery, recent-bookings photo gallery, daily booking-photo PDF, or sheriff-hosted mugshot wall was located. The Past Inmate area and Books 24hr control may help with recent booking searches if enabled, but the research did not verify a populated public photo sample. The safest county-specific answer is narrow: the roster has a booking-photo panel, and release of any specific image depends on facility settings, public-record rules, and the status of the case.
A Cumberland County mugshot should be treated as a booking record. It documents jail intake. It does not prove the charge, the court outcome, or guilt.
Find Cumberland County Booking Photos
Start with the same roster used for Cumberland County inmate records. The image call is tied to the booking number selected in the roster, so a name search alone is not enough. Cumberland County Mugshot Public Records
Illinois public-record access starts with 5 ILCS 140, the Illinois Freedom of Information Act. FOIA supports access to non-exempt public records, and the Cumberland County FOIA officer list says requests must be written and may be emailed. That does not mean every booking photo must be posted online or released without review. Law-enforcement exemptions, privacy rules, juvenile confidentiality, sealed or expunged matters, medical or mental health information, and active investigation concerns can restrict release.

No official Cumberland County rule was located that states how long a mugshot stays on the roster after release. BlueHorse has current, past, and recent-booking functions, but public access to past records can depend on facility settings. A booking image may also be tied to a specific booking number, so a prior booking image is not the same as a current custody photo.
What is and is not public: A current roster profile may show a photo if enabled. Historical photos, sealed cases, juvenile records, and exempt law-enforcement records may require review or may be withheld.
The practical rule is to save the case details and request the official record from the custodian if the image matters. For Cumberland County Jail, that custodian is the sheriff. For court-file images or exhibits, the Circuit Clerk is the better starting point.
Request Cumberland County Booking Photos
A written request should identify the person, approximate arrest or booking date, requested record type, and requester contact information. Useful wording is: request non-exempt records related to the booking, including the booking sheet, arresting agency, listed booking charges, bond or release information, booking photograph if releasable, and release or transfer date. Ask for non-exempt portions if any part is withheld, and ask to be advised before fees exceed a stated amount.

Mugshot Removal and Sealed Records
No Cumberland County policy was located for removing roster mugshots after dismissal, sealing, or expungement. The reliable path starts with the court record. If a case is sealed or expunged, obtain and keep the court order, then contact the Circuit Clerk and the sheriff records channel so official custodians can apply the order to their records. The county cannot necessarily remove copies republished by outside sites.
Do not pay or rely on commercial mugshot-publishing or removal sites for official record correction. The official route is the court order and the agency that created or maintains the record. If the issue is a wrong identity, a sealed case, a juvenile record, or a record that should no longer be public, provide the court order or identifying documents to the appropriate custodian.
Federal and State Booking Photos
Federal and immigration systems do not work like a county jail mugshot panel. The BOP inmate locator lists federal custody data such as name, register number, age, race, sex, release date, and location, but it is not a public mugshot gallery. The ICE locator is also a custody-status tool, not a booking-photo source. A federal or ICE hold may affect release from Cumberland County Jail, but that does not mean a federal mugshot will appear in the county roster.
After a felony sentence to state prison, use the Illinois Department of Corrections locator for state custody. IDOC records are sentence and custody records, not local jail booking sheets. The county roster remains the better source for the original local booking event if the record is public and still available.
